Description:
The only hotel in Looe Recommended by the Good Hotel Guide 2009 and 2010. Virtually all bedrooms have wonderful sea views - the perfect way to start and end the day gazing over the ever-changing view, colours, weathers and shipping including the Royal Navy on regular maneuvers and the Looe Fishing Fleet leaving and returning to port. All bedrooms are en-suite with bath and shower; and all have recently been refurbished. Our superior rooms offer more space and are luxuriously equipped. All have zip-link beds for twin or double occupancy. Some have their own balcony and some are on the ground floor one of which has its own terrace. Please note, all the facilities: Reception, Restaurant, Bar, Sitting Room, Veranda and access to the outdoor heated swimming pool are on the first floor. Most of our rooms can be either doubles or twins having zip-link beds. All rooms are available for single occupancy attracting a supplementary charge. Somewhat rare are our two single bedrooms one of which has full en-suite bath and shower; the other has a walk-in shower. We are pleased to offer Family Rooms some with double bed and bunk and some with zip-link double/twin and bunk. Most rooms can take an extra “zed” bed and/or cot. All rooms have colour FreeView Television, radio, direct dial phone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and free Internet access.
Location:
Looe is an old seafaring town with a long history of fishing and smuggling. Just 17 miles west of Plymouth. East and West Looe are split by the river running out to sea with a landmark seven arched stone bridge linking the two sides. The town 'centre' is at East Looe, with its cobbled streets, quaint cottages, shops and the busy fishing harbour. The Fieldhead is situated in West Looe, only a fifteen minute walk along the waterside to the centre of town. In summer a passenger ferry plys across the harbour mouth. The town beach is popular in the summer months while the rock pools and sandy coves below the hotel provide interest all year round.
