Colvennor Farmhouse

Description:

Approached by a short private lane, Colvennor is a lovingly restored former farmhouse, fronted with dressed granite in classic Cornish style. Grade II listed with parts dating back to the 17th Century, it is set in a private location, surrounded by open countryside offering glimpses over Mounts Bay towards Penzance. Guests are welcome to relax at their leisure in the large, peaceful garden. Breakfast is served in the attractive Dining Room overlooking the front garden. Fresh local produce is used wherever possible. Given due notice, we are happy to cater for vegetarian and special diets. The guest Sitting Room, with its beamed ceiling and granite fireplace, offers the perfect setting to relax at any time. Real fires in the stove add a warming touch on colder Spring and Autumn evenings. The three en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished and equipped to a high standard with guests' comfort in mind. Each room has Freeview TV with DVD, hairdryer, well stocked beverage tray and toiletries. One bedroom, a twin, is on the ground floor and therefore suitable for guests with limited mobility. An attractive bathroom featuring a beautifully restored cast iron bath is available for the exclusive use of guests. Colvennor is set well off the road and there is ample and easy parking available. We aim to ensure your visit to the Lizard and West Cornwall is as memorable as possible and we pride ourselves on providing that personal touch and attention to detail which helps to achieve.

Location:

The Lizard Peninsula is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Due to the mild climate and special geology, unique natural flora and fauna abound at different times of the year. This natural beauty is supplemented by the many famous gardens which are within easy reach of Colvennor. Nearby is the small harbour of Mullion Cove and the Mullion Golf Club, with its nationally renowned course on the cliff top. The ancient market town of Helston maintains an old fashioned feel and has an interesting history, including the world famous Flora Day in early May. Kynance Cove, Poldhu Cove, Cadgwith, Helford, Gunwalloe Cove, Porthleven and Lizard Point are all within six miles. Colvennor acts as a good base for touring South West Cornwall with Penzance, St Ives, Truro and Falmouth all within easy reach. The Eden Project is just over one hour's drive away to the east, as is the Minack Theatre to the west. The Coastal Path is reached in one mile, and we welcome walkers. We have facilities to store muddy boots and dry walking clothes. We are happy to provide transport within the Lizard area to enable ramblers to undertake non-circular walks. Eating out in Cornwall is becoming an ever increasing pleasure, with an award winning pub and restaurant only ten minutes drive away. Within a few miles there are restaurants and Pubs to meet every taste and pocket. Whatever the aim of your holiday, you will find Colvennor Farmhouse a relaxing and welcoming place to stay.
