Location:

Welcome to Hazelbrae House B&B, a charming 158 year old Victorian House constructed of granite and located on the A835 in the village of Garve, between Inverness and Ullapool. Because of its central location in Ross-shire, Hazelbrae House is an ideal base if you wish to explore the Highlands. The unique riverside location of ‘Hazelbrae’ together with the fact that there is a lot of native deciduous woodland in the vicinity ensures that a variety of Scottish wildlife is quite literally on the doorstep. It is possible for visitors to see pine-marten, otter, stoat and weasel, while kestrels, buzzards, grey herons, cormorants, oyster-catchers, and a kingfisher are frequent visitors. Among the plethora of smaller birds that visit the bird feeders can be seen great-spotted woodpeckers, several varieties of tits, chaffinches, bullfinches, greenfinches and the more common species of garden birds. For visitors who enjoy walking there are many picturesque routes in the area. Whether your preference is for quiet woodlands, waterfalls or mountains, walks ranging from easy to challenging are all available within the area. Access to a number of Munros is available within thirty to forty-five minutes drive from 'Hazelbrae'. The pretty fishing and ferry port of Ullapool with its shops and cafes is a scenic forty-five minutes drive away. For guests who prefer beautiful sandy beaches, a leisurely hour and fifteen minutes drive through Kinlochewe past the spectacular mountains of Torridon and along the bank of picturesque Loch Maree will take you to the highland village of Gairloch. With its small harbour, shops and cafes.
