Glaisdale village offers, Shop, Butchers, Post Office, and three Public Houses which all serve meals. The village is next to a river, which can be fished, there are also many public footpaths and Glaisdale is on the Coast-to-Coast walk. Other villages in the area, which are all within a 10/15 minute drive from Glaisdale, include Grosmont, which is home to the North Yorkshire Steam Railway, which runs from Grosmont to Pickering. Goathland better known as Aidensfield, from the popular TV programme Heartbeat, is a 15 min drive away. York, Scarborough and Middlesbrough are all within an Hour's drive.
