Description:
The Bed and Breakfast accomodation is situated in the main building of Strathwhillan House. Bedroom 1 has the option of being a double or a twin bedded room with ensuite shower room. Bedroom 2 comprises of a double bed with ensuite shower room and also available for single occupancy. We also have a large family room with ensuite shower room, usually made up as a king size bed with an additional single bed (can also be 3 singles if preferred) it can also sleep an extra person on a put-u-up bed. In addition we have a twin-bedded room (also available for single occupancy) with private shower room, not ensuite. Our fifth bedroom is also a family room containing containing a kingsize bed and full size bunk beds, the bathroom is private but not ensuite. All our bedrooms will take a cot, please request when booking. All guest rooms are on the ground floor. Parking and access are easy for guests with mobility problems and as such we have a designated car parking space close to the entrance if requested. All rooms are attractively furnished and have colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. Central heating throughout ensures the comfort of the off-season visitor. Walkers and cyclists appreciate our range of books, maps, friendly advice and (occasionally) drying facilities. Start the day with your choice from our extensive breakfast menu. Breakfast is served each morning between 8.30 and 9.30, however, an earlier breakfast can be arranged if needed, but will not include any cooked food. Packed lunches are available for an extra charge, please notify us on arrival. Freshly prepared food served in our attractive dining room is just one of the reasons why our guests return again and again. Vegetarian and Vegan diets can be catered for by prior arrangement.
Location:
Strathwhillan House, privately owned by Philip and Charlotte Hirschfield, lies in beautiful grounds with magnificent views over Brodick Bay to the Castle and Mountains beyond. It is conveniently situated half a mile from the centre of Brodick and 200 metres from the ferry terminal. Strathwhillan is an attractive blend of traditional and modern. The original house is over 150 years old and has been carefully renovated to preserve its character. The gardens are laid out with courtyards, lawns and flower beds and there is ample parking near the main door for those who need it. The most southerly of the Scottish Islands, Arran is easily accessible by all means of transport. Just 30 miles west of Glasgow, a one hour crossing on a modern roll-on, roll-off car ferry transports you to this Isle of outstanding scenery and tranquil Hebridean atmosphere.
