It's true our Bedford Bed and Breakfast is located in quiet countryside, but you will find plenty to entertain very close to the Lodge. From golf to skydiving and everything in between, here's just a sample ... Palmer Sports – like high performance cars and want a chance to drive them at an autodrome? The Palmer Formula One team is based very close to the lodge and can provide a rush of adrenalin for the more adventurous. How about a round of golf amongst the lush countryside? We are situated next to the Bedford & County Golf Club and the club house is a short walk away. Bodyflight – Another one for the more adventurous. If you’ve ever wanted to try skydiving you’ll find this attraction a few minutes drive from the Lodge. Prefer to watch your sports? Bedford Rugby Club (The Blues) play from August through to April. Currently they sit in the First Division, one step below the Premier League. There is also a non-league football team, The Bedford Eagles. Next to the golf course is Tinsleys Riding School and with all the countryside lanes to explore, those with a passion for house riding will find this well worth checking out. They offer classes as well as guided country hacks. For swimmers Bedford has a number of options including Robinson Pool for the more serious sports person and the Oasis pool for those with children or more entertainment minded. Bedford also has a top class athletics stadium and rowing club. For fishermen there is a good fishing river (The Ouse) just a mile away at the bottom of the hill, as well as numerous stocked lakes in the surrounding area. A Google search will provide plenty of options. Ever wanted to try gliding? The local weather patterns and landscape make this area a great one to try gliding and you will find a gliding school an easy drive away.
