Perthshire and Kinross: Home of majestic castles such as Blair Castle dating back to the 13th century, home of the Dukes of Atholl. Loch Leven Castle, standing on an island in Loch Leven, this is where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned but escaped 11 months later. Scone Palace where Scottish kings were crowned until 1651 and was the site of the famous coronation Stone of Destiny from the 9th century until it was seized by the English in 1296. For the museum buff there is the Black Watch Regimental Museum at Perth, where treasures of the 42nd/73rd Highland Regiment from 1739 to the present day are on show. For the whisky enthusiast visits to Glenturret Distillery at Crieff and Edradour Distillery at Pitlochry are a must. For Accommodation please click on to the Globes below.
