Description: Standing in extensive and delightful gardens, Spanhoe Lodge offers luxury, peace and tranquility for the discerning. We are the only 5 Star Gold accommodation provider in the area. All of our new large, en-suite ground floor rooms are individually themed and equipped with large TV’s, radio alarm, ironing facilities, bath and power shower/wet room, comfortable sofas/chairs, wireless internet, a full hospitality tray with lots of “goodies”, an extensive range of full size toiletries, fridge, books, magazines, emergency survival kit and lots more. One of our rooms has been fitted to accommodate people with restricted mobility, providing a wheel in wet room, toilet aids and designated parking directly outside the room. We also have a room which offers a micro kitchen for self catering. Two rooms have sofa beds which can accommodate children. Our beds are luxury kingsize, super kingsize or twins. Each room, offering every possible comfort and is ideal whether for business or leisure travellers, opens onto a private area. We serve gourmet breakfasts with a huge choice of menu - all cooked to individual order and tailor made to personal choice, using locally sourced and fresh ingredients. We received an Eggcup award from the AA for our extra special breakfasts, which are served at individual tables. Late 2008 sees an addition of a bar and restaurant with conferencing facilities available and also a small dining room is available for private hire. Our large decked area offers extra seating for outside dining. Large vehicles such as horse boxes and trailers can be accommodated on our large site and as we are off the beaten track, our parking facilities are safe and secure. Location: We are ideally situated in the middle of the country for family get-togethers. Spanhoe Lodge provides a great touring base and there are many wonderful days out to experience - from the beautiful houses at Althorp, Burghley, Belvoir Castle, Grimsthorpe, Rockingham Castle to the thrilling adventures to be had at Rockingham Motor Speedway and Santa Pod Raceway. A little further afield are the cities of Peterborough (25 minutes), Leicester (25 minutes) and Nottingham (45 minutes) - these all offer culture, sightseeing and excellent restaurants. We are surrounded by some beautiful and picturesque market towns and villages, for example Uppingham, Oundle, Stamford and Oakham. Stamford is a beautifully preserved Georgian town that has been the location for many recent films (The Da Vinci Code, Pride and Prejustice, Middlemarch). Rutland Water is only a 15 minute drive away - here you can walk or cycle around the shores of the reservoir, fish, rockclimb, windsurf and enjoy various water sports. For those who prefer something more gentle a large boat will take you around the various sightseeing venues on the water. We have many leaflets available in reception - to help you plan your touring and sightseeing. Warm hospitality and attentive service will make this a memorable stay! Our aim is to offer five star luxury in our rooms and our food - all you have to do is relax and enjoy! |
