Description: Drem Farmhouse is a large Georgian house set in the picturesque conservation village of Drem, located in the heart of East Lothian, surrounded by golf courses, beaches and within easy reach of Edinburgh. It is the family home of Hugh and Marlene Smith who welcome their guests for Bed and Breakfast (evening meals available with advance notice). The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated through out with a dinning room, drawing room and a large sun room all over looking the extensive gardens. Room 1: Double with private facilities, can be used as a family room with extra single bed and cot available. Room 2: Twin with private facilities. Room 3: Double with ensuite facilities. Location: Drem is located approximately 20 miles east of Edinburgh, close to both North Berwick and Haddington, with easy access via road or rail. Located directly opposite the driveway to Drem Farmhouse is Drem station with regular services to and from Edinburgh (usually every hour, but more frequent at peak times). The train takes 25 minutes to get to Edinburgh and 5 minutes to North Berwick. Getting to Drem by road is most easily done via the A1, either coming east from Edinburgh or from The South leave the A1 at the easterly Haddington exit and follow the small road over the Garleton Hills towards Drem turning right when you get to the railway line. A more scenic route can be taken, from Edinburgh, along the coast on either the A 198 or B 1348. Coming along the coast the A 6137 & B 1377 can be taken from Aberlady to Drem or the B 1345 from Dirleton. |
