There are two dogs, a small poodle and a german short haired pointer which share the property and are sometimes allowed in the house. There are no televisions anywhere, Roberts radios everywhere. Chapel House is situated in the quiet village of Henley between Sherborne and Dorchester, where the loudest noise is most likely to a mooing cow or the clip clop of horses hooves on the road. The house is unusual being a converted chapel which has been altered into a comfortable home. The rooms downstairs, apparently, are more reminiscent of a Scottish hunting lodge with leather sofas, stuffed birds, swords, polo sticks, pictures and overflowing bookcases which have been collected by Malcolm over a period of years. There are no televisions but Roberts radios everywhere. Hopefully all this makes for a memorable stay. You are welcomed more as weekend house guests than strangers. Tea and coffee are available from the large kitchen at all times. Bedrooms are mainly large and comfortable and all the bathrooms are finished to a high standard. |
