Description: 16th Century thatched house, set in 3 1/2 acres. Large garden for use of guests. Space for camping in paddocks but no facilities i.e outdoor showers/loos. The house is full of character, flag floors, oak beams and in winter, log fires. Breakfast consists of cereals, fresh fruit, orange juice, full English cooked, fresh coffee/assorted teas, home made bread and preserves. The eggs are organic and free range, and if the door is left open you may have the producer of the egg you are enjoying checking on your response. Evening meals are available by prior arrangement and any special diet can be catered for. As much of the food as possible is organic with some of it grown on site. The candle lit dinner is usually served at 7.30 and can be up to 4 courses costing £22.50 per head. Charges are reduced for fewer courses. Location: Buckerell is in East Devon, 3 miles outside the market town of Honiton known for its many many antique shops. The village itself is very small with the nearest pub just over a mile away. Surrounded by fields and public foot paths it makes an ideal place to escape the rush of everyday life or the perfect stop off point on your way to either north Devon or Cornwall. Exeter City with its wonderful cathedral and assortment of shops is 17 miles away and is well worth a visit. |
