Description: The Collingdale Hotel is a splendid six storey Victorian residence, beautifully situated with miles of uninterrupted views across the harbour and magnificent coastal scenery of Hillsborough Nature Reserve. Only a few minutes walk from the beach, harbour and town centre; Lundy Island is just a short boat trip away by the supply vessel M.S. Oldenburg, with regular sailing’s from Ilfracombe, while the dramatic coastal and moorland reaches of Exmoor National Park are readily accessible by car. All rooms are tastefully furnished to a high specification and our comfortable guest lounge provides a pleasant relaxed atmosphere to sit and read, watch television or enjoy the splendid scenery. The spacious dining room provides comfortable seating for all our guests serving freshly prepared and carefully presented home cooked cuisine; using locally farmed produce as available. After dinner you can retire to our well-stocked cosy bar and enjoy a pleasant evening with your hosts and other guests. All of our nine bedrooms in this beautiful Victorian hotel are en-suite and of a high standard with beverage facilities, colour television, radio alarm, hairdryer and several complimentary goodies. Many of our guests book for sports orientated breaks and we have special rates at some local golf courses (including Saunton, Ilfracombe and Royal North Devon) and we are happy to book tee times on your behalf. We can also arrange sea fishing trips which leave the harbour most days. Ideally situated for walking holidays with the Tarka Trail and Heritage Coastal Path on the doorstep. Location: DIRECTIONS FROM M5, Junction 27 - Take A361 towards Tiverton / Barnstable. At South Molton you will come to a roundabout - go straight across. After approximately 1 mile you will approach a second roundabout - Turn right on A399 sign posted Combe Martin/Ilfracombe. After approximately 15 miles you will go through Combe Martin village. Stay on this road past Ilfracombe golf course, through Hele Bay. You will see 'The Olde Thatched Inn' on your left - The Collingdale Hotel is situated approximately 70 metres further on right hand side. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS QUITE A WINDY ROAD AND YOU MAY PREFER TO TAKE THE A361 THROUGH BARNSTAPLE. DIRECTIONS FROM BARNSTAPLE, take A361 through Braunton to Ilfracombe. As you come into the town you turn right at a first mini roundabout to traffic lights (Landmark DIY shop) - go straight ahead and through High Street. On heading out of town pass 'Scarlet Pimpernel' garage to traffic lights - go straight ahead. Immediately there is a parade of Victorian 4/5 storey houses on left, The Collingdale is situated towards the end. |
