Description: The Schoolhouse is a late 19th century building and consists of 3 comfortable bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin and 1 family). A large, welcoming and comfortable communal sitting room boasts log fire and Sky TV, tea and coffee making facilities, wi-fi and last but not least, fantastic views. Ample and safe parking for cars and motor bikes, lock-up for mountain bikes with hose wash available. The resident cat, dogs and horses are all people friendly. The garden and green afford safe playing areas for the children. Location: Outdoor pursuits are many and varied and include seasonal fly fishing for Salmon and Trout on the famous river Tweed, day permits available locally. Mountain biking tracks start from the doorstep or visit the famed downhill track at Innerleithen (1 mile), alternately Glentress Mountain Biking Centre is only 3 miles away. Horses can be hired locally and the area is renowned for hacking. The Southern Upland Way passes The Schoolhouse which will make an excellent overnight stop. For the more leisurely, Traquair House and gardens are within walking distance with Kalzie Gardens nearby. Several golf courses are available within a 6 mile radius. |
