Description: The accommodation is all on the ground floor. Elizabeth prepares a generous cooked breakfast which is served in the Dining Room. Genuine stone-ground pinhead oatmeal porridge. Home-made bread and muffins. Local bacon and sausages, eggs, black pudding. Fish. Fruit, yoghurt and home made preserves. Special diets also catered for with advance notice. Location: Elizabeth and Tony Cowie welcome guests to stay for bed and breakfast at their home on the edge of the village of Findhorn. The village and small harbour is on the wide bay at the mouth of the River Findhorn on the sandy coast of the Moray Firth about 30 miles from Inverness. Heath House is on the edge of the village and its garden borders onto sandy heath land, an unspoilt natural wilderness of gorse, pine and sand grasses. It is ten minutes walk from the 7 mile sandy beach of the North Shore, 3 minutes walk from the sea to the west, and within easy walking distance of the Findhorn Foundation, The Findhorn Heritage Centre and the village, including the excellent pubs which serve evening meals. Tony is a retired Royal Yacht Association instructor and can give advice about where to go to see sea birds, seals and sometimes dolphins. |
